CANCELLATIONS & CLOSINGS:

The Knoxville Raceway and Marion County Fair Board announced Tuesday that the Nationals have been postponed until August 11 through the 14th of 2021.  In lieu of the Knoxville Nationals, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will hold races in Knoxville August 13 through the 15th, culminating with the Brownells Capitani Classic, which had been scheduled for August 9.  Because of COVID-19 restrictions, only 7000 fans will be allowed inside Knoxville Raceway for each of the World of Outlaws races.  If you have tickets for the Knoxville Nationals and have questions, call the ticket office at 641-842-5431.

The following events have been cancelled this year:

June 12: Friday After Five 

June 13: Art on the Square 

June 26: Friday After Five  

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the William Penn football team has been forced to move its golf fundraising tournament to a later date.

Instead of the original date of June 19, the four-person scramble will now be held on Friday, July 10.  The event will still be at Edmundson Golf Course with a tee time of 11 a.m.  Participants will receive hole prizes on each hole.  Entry fee for the tournament is $100 per person, while minor ($100) and major ($250) hole sponsorships are also available.  A four-person team with a major hole sponsorship costs $500.

UPDATE: Southern Iowa Speedway Season Opener Delayed Again:

 

The 2020 Stock Car Racing season opener at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa has been delayed two more weeks to Wednesday, May 20th. Following Governor Reynolds continuation of the current Covid-19 guidelines pertaining to social gatherings and recreational events limiting the numbers, the Southern Iowa Speedway officials have announced the season will once again be delayed. We ask that all of our fans and competitors please continue to be safe and we will be racing soon.   

 

The Oskaloosa school playgrounds are closed to the public until further notice. 

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach cancelled in-person events throughout the state.  Included in these events is the Mahaska County Master Gardener Plant Sale scheduled for May 16.  

Mahaska County Master Gardeners also postponed speakers scheduled during this time.  When it is safe to gather again, they hope to reschedule those speakers.

PELLA:

The City of Pella has officially extended the closure of all City offices, recreational facilities, and playgrounds until further notice.


The Pella Public Library will launch a curbside pick-up program beginning on Monday, May 4.

KNOXVILLE:

Knoxville Raceway - The May 29 and 30 events have been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

 

 

​OTTUMWA:

 

The American Gothic Performing Arts Festival June 12-26 is cancelled. This two week long event is typically held at various locations in Wapello County.

​Tonic Sol-fa, with special guests Ottumwa High School Meistersingers, has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 26th @ 7:30pm from its original March 29th date due to the current COVID-19 health crisis.  Tickets may be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or the Bridge View Center ticket office M-F 8:30am-5pm once it reopens to the public.  All seats reserved at $24 & $29.  Opening support for this show will be provided by special guests Ottumwa High School Meistersingers.  This special event is a fundraiser for the OHS Vocal Music Program, as $3 of every paid ticket will be donated back to the OHS Vocal Music Program by the Bridge View Center.  There will also be a Pre-Show dinner offered from 5:30pm-7:00pm (Menu TBA).

 

Tickets for the original date will be honored for the rescheduled date. No action is required by the ticket holder. For those who are unable to attend the rescheduled date, refunds are available through your original point of purchase (venue box office or Ticketmaster.com).

 

The Pages for Pennies book sale has been postponed to the following dates:
